Grounded

I’ve just come back from seeing Grounding at the cinema. It’s a dramatized account of the downfall of Swissair, in 2001. It’s very well done. Fast-paced. It mixes real documentary, actors, and fictional employees.

I’m stunned, actually. I hadn’t followed much of the affair at the time, just noting “gosh, Swissair is gone” and “ah, they’ve turned it into Swiss, OK” and then, recently “ah, Swiss is gone too”. I actually thought 9/11 was the cause of the loss of Swissair — in fact, it was doing bad before.

Sleazy businessmen in that story. I don’t like being reminded that people can be like that.

A film to go and see if you get a chance to.
