Judo: Back on Track

I went to judo again Friday, and today. My black belt partner was there today, it was really nice to see her. At the end of the lesson, we did Nageno Kata (without throws) just to see if we still knew it. And we do! We haven’t done it in at least two years, and honestly, there’s something left.

We had started learning Juno Kata for our second dan because I had headache troubles with falls, and she had neck problems. But you know what — Juno Kata is really tough! So we decided to go with Nageno Kata anyway. I mean, we already know it. We won’t have to fall as much as when we were learning it.

I’m going to be back on the mats regularly, now. I realise that judo slowly slipped lower and lower in my priorities (after being maybe a bit too high up at some point), and it’s time to get back on track.
